TESSE is a Melbourne homewares brand creating children’s linen bedding inspired by vintage textiles, classic florals and a really good stripe.
Founded by Rachel, a mum of two with a lifelong love of natural textiles and beautiful interiors, TESSE makes pieces that feel nostalgic but are designed for modern family life.
Our bedding is made in small batches from 100% French flax linen and is OEKO-TEX® certified, so you can feel good about what your little ones are sleeping on. Naturally hard-wearing and made to soften with every wash, our linen is designed to be used and loved for years.
With original prints, thoughtful details and beautiful natural fabrics, TESSE makes pieces to be loved, lived with and passed on.
The story behind the prints
We want to be known for prints that feel both nostalgic and modern. Most of our homes are a collected mix, new pieces sitting alongside vintage from all sorts of eras, and textiles are such a lovely way of bringing them together.
Finley is a stripe inspired by classic vintage French ticking, the hard-wearing fabric once used to cover mattresses, which the French turned into all sorts of beautiful combinations of stripe widths and colours.
Matilda began with spring tulips and the spaced floral motifs we kept finding in old English textiles. We played with the scale and spacing of the blooms until it felt nostalgic but not overly sweet.
